Request: Wilhelmina (Pokemon)

wanted to see a picture of this character, so I thought, meh, I'll go with it. This is my fifth attempt at "manga" style drawing, intended to teach me about using the 3/4 pose for head shape. The next one I need to try is the "from below" perspective, which could make for an interesting sort of portrait.

Wilhelmina is a minor trainer character from the Pokemon anime series. She resides in the Johto region and appears in a single episode, searching for her lost Marill. She gets hit on by Brock, of course. Her name is Miyuki in the Japanese version. I tried using the same style I used when I approached my drawing of misty (found here), merging the more anime-esque features, especially around the eyes, with more and more realistic and less stylized features the further you get from them. The choice of a sunset in the background was partially inspired by this shot, though I kept the sunset in particular because of the potential for contrast with her green hair. Marill isn't depicted in this shot mostly because it would have covered up the details of her dress which were, I believe, a major reason this character was requested to begin with. The background is slightly blurred to add to the feeling of distance.

This was originally created with paint on a small canvas simulated via Nintendo's New Art Academy ap on the 3DS, but it was heavily modified afterward via the GIMP 2.8.10, moreso than Misty's picture was.
